Winter

In winter, the village becomes a lively ski resort.  The pistes are situated at 1600m and accessible by a Cable car.  There are pistes for all abilities and a well developed lift system allows access to the neighboring resorts of Les Carroz, Morillon, Sixt and Flaine. 

Summer

In summer the valley is a Mecca for cyclists, walkers and golfers.  There are tennis courts, a swimming pool, white water rafting or, one could simply soak up the sun and enjoy the huge variety of cheeses and saucisson for which the Northern Alps are renown.

During the winter:

Morillon, Samoëns, Sixt, Les Carroz and Flaine:5 resorts linked to make one of the greatest skiing domains in France. 

A total of 260 Km of runs culminating at 2500 m (views of Mont blanc)  1000 acres of traced slopes and 75 ski lifts near future will bring. Have a Look at the map.

300 MF of investments have been budgeted this year in order to bring the Grand Massif domain to the high of modern technology. (this winter the firsts 8 men chair lift in France will be opened on the domain).

One of the best spot for snowboarders and new school skiers. The Jam Park is the reference. Half pipe, boarder cross and big jumps are shaped by a team of pro riders.

 Cross country skiing is also available with 60 Km of tracks by the river bank between Morillon and the Fer à cheval and another 30 Km at the Col de Joux Plane (1800 m facing the Mont Blanc). 

Anyway, the best way to discover the mountains is hiking around when the season ends.

During the Summer:

In summer Samoens is also an exciting area with a great range of activities available and many cultural activities. It is an area to suit all tastes and all age groups.
